Check-in & Service

  • Check-in was seamless, and our rooms were ready when we arrived.
  • With our Guest of Honor, we got lounge access upon arrival and grabbed snacks and drinks before heading out to explore.
  • Check-out is at 12 pm, and we didn’t need late check-out.
  • Staff were absolutely lovely.
  • Housekeeping was provided daily.

Rooms That Work for a Family of 5

  • Twin room and a King room with a very nice pullout couch
  • Very clean, with a good layout and a closet
  • Small fridge for drinks and tea/coffee supplies
  • Very quiet

Breakfast & Regency Club Lounge

  • With status, choose between breakfast at the club lounge or the buffet
  • We chose the buffet because the selection was fantastic with plenty of vegetarian options.

Total points9 K points per night for 5 nights → 45,000 points per room (we stayed here before the category and Hyatt devaluation)
Cash stay estimate$150 per night → $1500 for 2 rooms for 5 nights
Breakfast value (GoH)5 breakfasts for 5 would have cost $625
Lounge savingsHeavy hors d’oeuvres covered lunch/dinner — at least $50/day saved (likely more)
Overall value~$2,150 for 90K points
Elite status perksEarly check-in, breakfast, lounge access, lovely gift in room

Value

  • Even though the location required us to take the metro for 15 minutes each day, it was perfect for our big family. We were still building up our points stash and getting multiple meals, and 2 rooms for only 95K was amazing! We saved so much money and had extra budget for activities and nice lunches out.

Would We Stay Again?

Yes, I would 100% stay again. The location, food, and access to transit and shops are perfect!

Pros

  • The breakfast and lounge cannot be beat for the value and quality of food/service.

Cons

  • If you want to be in the heart of Barcelona, this may not be the best option. But if you are tight on points and want amazing value and don’t mind spending 15 minutes getting into town, the value is fantastic!

FAQ’s

Hyatt Regency Barcelona Tower good for families?

Yes! For us, at least. We didn’t have a huge stockpile of points and we got so much value for this stay.

How far is the hotel from Barcelona city center?

It’s definitely not central but its a 3 minute walk to a major metro line and a 15 min ride into the city.

How many Hyatt points does it cost per night?

This varies based on the time of year and the room type but we paid 9K per night but they are averaging 18K now with the Hyatt devaluation. Still a great deal IMO!

Is breakfast included?

Not unless you have Globalist status (or a Guest of Honor certificate) or book a Club Lounge room.
