📍30 Portman Square, London, W1H 7BH, United Kingdom

Hyatt Category: 7

Standard Room: 25-55K Points Per Night

Location

  • Central London, Marylebone Neighborhood
  • Near Marble Arch and Bond Tube Stations – Central, Jubilee, & Elizabeth Lines
  • A few minutes’ walk from multiple bus stops
  • The neighborhood is much less touristy, with true local housing, close to lots of shops and restaurants

Check-in/Check-out

  • Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived, but they held our bags and called us around 2 pm (standard check-in is 3 pm) to let us know it was ready. They actually brought our bags to our room (first experience for me!)
  • With our Guest of Honor, we were given Lounge access upon arrival and were able to grab some snacks and drinks before heading out to explore.
  • Check-out is at 12 pm, and we didn’t need late check-out.

Room

  • Twin room, slightly larger than typical European rooms.
  • Very clean, with good layout and closet
  • Small fridge for drinks and tea/coffee supplies
  • Excellent AC (we stayed during a June heatwave)

Amenities

  • With status, choose between breakfast at the club lounge or the buffet on the first floor.
  • We chose the buffet because the selection was fantastic with plenty of vegetarian options.

Service

  • Staff were absolutely lovely. The doorman welcomed us every time with, “Welcome home!” and tipped his hat.
  • Housekeeping was provided daily.

Value

  • For us, this was a really perfect location. We’ve been to London several times, and it was nice to stay in a less touristy area. The points per day were higher than we’d normally redeem, but the location, lounge, and breakfast made the value worth the points.

Highlights

  • The breakfast and lounge cannot be beat for the value and quality of food/service.
  • The location was perfect for this trip with several options for transit, shopping, and dining within a few minutes’ walk.

Drawbacks

  • If this was my first time in London and I wanted to be near the more famous sites, I’d probably pick a more central hotel. But we really enjoyed avoiding the crowds of this location.

Would I stay again? Yes, I would 100% stay again. The location, food, and access to transit and shops are perfect!
