📍3, Place du Général Kœnig, 75017 Paris, France

Hyatt Category: 5

Standard Room: 15-35K Points Per Night

Location

  • 17th Arrondissement, in a mixed residential and business neighborhood
  • Porte Maillot station → Metro Line 1 and RER C
  • Walking distance to Arc de Triomphe, easy transit by Metro to central Paris and major sites
  • Neighborhood walkable, easy access to several restaurants, brasseries, and coffee shops

Check-in/Check-out

  • We received a slightly early check-in at 1 pm (standard 3 pm); they held our bags and provided access to the club lounge with our Hyatt Globalist Status from a Guest of Honor Award.
  • Check-out online/self check-out, standard check-out at noon

Room

  • On the smaller side for American expectations but larger than a typical European room.
  • Very clean, with good layout and closet
  • Small fridge for drinks and tea/coffee supplies
  • Excellent AC (we stayed during a June heatwave)

Amenities

  • With status, choose between breakfast at the club lounge or the buffet on the first floor.
  • We chose the buffet most days because the selection was fantastic with plenty of vegetarian options.
  • Connected to a shopping mall with a pharmacy and grocery store. The mall then leads directly to the Metro Station.

Service

  • They were very busy when we checked in, but everyone was kind and helpful.
  • Housekeeping was provided daily.

Value

  • This hotel is not located in the more touristy areas, but the value was fantastic. We saved so much money on the stay and food that it allowed us to travel longer than we normally would, and we had extra in the budget for day trips, coffees/pastries, and French skincare products.

Highlights

  • The breakfast and lounge cannot be beat for the value and quality of food/service.
  • Having a Metro and a grocery store attached to the hotel made up for the location.

Drawbacks

  • If I had only two nights in Paris, rather than four, I would splurge for a Hyatt in the center of the city. It was about a 10-15 min Metro or RER ride to most places.
  • It is too far to walk anywhere other than Arc de Triomphe and requires use of public transit for almost every activity.
  • It is really far from Charles De Gaulle Airport If you are tired and not keen on taking public transit from the airport, I can imagine a taxi would be very expensive.

Would I stay again? Yes, I would 100% stay again. The value cannot be beat. This is especially good if you are staying longer or for business. I’d also recommend it for those on a budget.
